Hello Friends,

Well, it is that time of year again when my thoughts go to planning, purchasing and building the set for Vacation Bible School. I find myself awake at 2:00 a.m. considering the possibility of hanging an 18 foot airplane from the fellowship hall ceiling and praying that Kirk Sumner will make himself available to design, assemble, disassemble, and reassemble this plane. With God all things are possible!

My friends are beginning to ask about the dates and deadlines for this project and how much painting there will be. Remember this is “billed” as the easiest VBS ever! Easy, really?
Pastor Maureen is busy ordering materials and recruiting volunteers for this five day explosion of fun. Last year we enrolled over 150 children ages 5 -12 and had over 75 volunteers.
Ms. Tricia has the task of organizing all the materials necessary to keep all levels of this event running smoothly. I don’t think there is any way for our kids to have more fun while learning about God’s great love for them. This year the theme is “Sky”: Everything is possible with God. (Mark 10:27)

So here is your invitation: If you have children, mark your calendar for July 8-13, 2012 and sign your children up. Don’t forget to get involved yourself! If your children have outgrown the age limit for VBS and they are now teenagers, then make sure they sign up to assist the crew leaders and give back for all the years they freely were given this wonderful opportunity to learn about Jesus for 3 hours a day for 5 days in a row.

I believe it’s the most valuable experience you can give your children this summer, without any worldly influence at all. A week of sitting at the Master’s feet through praise and worship, song and dance, drama, imagination station, snacks, games, adventure, movies and it is all about God’s Word!
One week that will imprint the Word of God on every heart. Buy up this opportunity to receive from and to serve the Lord Jesus. I promise you will never be the same!!

Living the good life in Christ,

Love you,

Pastor Mary

P.S. See you Sunday! Don’t miss our guest speaker this Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Dr. Gary Wood
