One Thing

A new year is upon us. I love that word new….fresh, not stale….innocent, not yet touched…. No tears, no wrinkles, no stains just brand “new”. I think God gives us a new year every year to say something to us. Maybe He wants to remind us about His character. Isn’t it refreshing to know that He is perfect and He never changes? He is pure Love, pure Peace and pure Joy. He is always new and always beautiful! As man, we find that we have imperfections and we miss the mark, but we can always draw near to the One who is holy and spotless and true. “This one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:13-14).

The one thing I am going after this year is Jesus. I want to know Him more. I want to see Him more clearly. I want to gaze into His eyes and experience His amazing love. I want to be continually changed and transformed into His likeness. My high calling is found in Him. I encourage you this year to find Him in all that you do. Look for Him every day. Look for Him in the people you meet along life’s journey. Look for Him in the rain and the rainbow. Look for Him in your children’s eyes. He is everywhere.

I am purposing in my heart to “fling out the love of God” wherever I go. You have something someone else needs. You are the answer to someone else’s prayer. Let’s keep our hearts in a soft and tender place and remain sensitive to the voice of the Holy Spirit.

Pastor Maureen

A Prayer for Today:

“Lord, we open our hearts to you today. Enlarge the place of my heart. Open my heart to see Your love in a way we have not seen it before. Help us to look through Your eyes. We commit our ways to you. Direct our thoughts and direct our steps. Lead us into Your perfect will for our lives. We know you delight in us and rejoice over us with shouts of joy and deliverance. Help us to stay teachable and in the palm of Your hand.

For those who lost a loved one this past year, we pray the comfort of the Holy Spirit to surround them and envelop them. Thank you that Heaven is a real and glorious place and we will all be together soon.
We love you. In Jesus Name

Amen
