COVID-19 Updates

March 18, 2020

Dear BCOC Family,

There remains no mystery that we are navigating very troubled times.  We believe it has not been a mistake that the first quarter of 2020 has had us focused on HONOR.  It is very important that we place a high value on our community and national leaders as they continue to give guidance in these troubled times.  Speak well of them, pray for them and hold the banner of honor high.

We want to make you aware that on Monday, March 16, 2020, Judge Paul Pape issued a declaration of disaster for Bastrop County due to the public health crisis (COVID-19) which now prohibits community gatherings of more than 50 people.  Our president has asked that we avoid social gatherings of 10 or more people over the next 15 days to help slow the spread of the virus (see attached guidelines). This means BCOC Church will experience some changes over the next few weeks while we face this local, national and global crisis.

Tips on staying safe

BCOC Church Services

BCOC will not hold services on Sunday mornings or Wednesday evenings but instead we will stream live our Sunday morning worship service at 9:30am beginning this Sunday, March 22, 2020. We encourage our church family and guests to join us in worship via one of the following platforms:
The BCOC Church Facebook page. Watch on Facebook to leave comments and interact with other viewers. We can share needs and pray for one another via this medium.

If you do not have a Facebook account, please download the BCOC app on your mobile device or go to www.bcocchurch.org/live to watch via our website.

Support & Care

Support & Care

We want our BCOC family to know that our church offices will remain open and we will be available to receive calls if you need prayer, encouragement or guidance in these troubled times.  You are not alone. You may reach us at 512-321-2273 during office hours (9:00 to 5:00, Tuesday – Friday). Outside of office hours, please leave a message or email us at [email protected] or [email protected].

We especially want older adults to know that we are implementing policies that will allow us to assist you if necessary.  The BCOC staff will be on call and available to help our seniors (65 years old or older).

Ways we can help our senior members

  • Someone to pick up groceries or prescriptions
  • Help with rides to doctor appointments
  • Prayer and Encouragement

If you are over the age of 65, and require any of the assistance listed above, please contact the church office.
