Bastrop Christian Outreach Center is inviting the public to attend the dedication of its new sanctuary on Sunday, September 27th at 10:00 a.m.
BCOC began in 1984 with a small congregation that met in the Providence Association building on Hwy 21 in Cedar Creek. By the mid ‘90’s, the congregation had grown to the point that they needed their own building. Land was purchased on Highway 71 in 1998, and construction began in 1999.
The decision was made early on that BCOC should not go into debt in the construction of the building. Consequently, construction continued as the Lord provided the funds, and He did indeed provide. BCOC began holding services in the new building in 2002 in the educational wing which was the first part of the building to be completed. As additional funds became available, the balance of the church, the main sanctuary was finished. In 2003, services began in the sanctuary.
As Bastrop County continued to grow in population, so did BCOC. The congregation grew to the point that, in 2010, it was decided that the time had come to enlarge the sanctuary. The congregation began saving funds for the construction which began in 2012. Earlier this year the construction had progressed far enough that the congregation could meet in the partially completed new sanctuary. Now the sanctuary is totally completed and ready to be dedicated. And it is all debt free. Everything has been paid in full.
The story of Bastrop Christian Outreach Center and its new sanctuary is not just a story of the construction of a new facility. It is the story of many people from different walks of life giving into the work of the Gospel, and how the Lord taught us all that if we give, “it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom.” (Luke 6:38). It is also the story of lives changed, healed and restored to wholeness.
We invite you to come and worship with us as we dedicate our new sanctuary on Sunday, September 27, 2015, at 10:00 a.m.
Bastrop Christian Outreach Center is located at 1096 Highway 71 West, across from Sames Ford.
We are excited for what lies ahead for our community. We believe that God truly wants to touch and change lives. He is interested in the smallest details of our lives.
We look forward to meeting all of you!
