Scott & Maureen Stanek
Pastor Scott and Maureen have pastored Bastrop Christian Outreach Center since 1989. Scott graduated from Christ for the Nations Bible Institute in Dallas, Texas in 1986. Prior to entering full-time ministry, he served five years in the United States Navy and was a partner in a successful small business in the Northeast. Scott’s love and compassion for people can be seen as he weekly unfolds the Word of God and helps make it apply to the everyday lives of ordinary people. Scott’s vision is to teach people how to live victoriously through a proper understanding of God’s love and goodness and a personal relationship with Christ. Scott has written and teaches a weekly Men’s Discipleship curriculum which covers the importance of living by faith, the believer’s position in Christ, the power of the Holy Spirit, integrity and finding fulfillment in personal relationships. Scott also travels internationally teaching at pastor’s conferences and conducting healing crusades throughout India, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Mexico. He has witnessed notable signs, wonders, miracles and the transformation of many lives as he preaches the gospel and moves in the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
While co-pastoring with her husband, Maureen also leads the children’s ministry at BCOC and assists in the administration of the church. She especially enjoys teaching adults, teens and children subjects such as the power of prayer and experiencing the presence of God. Maureen has a heart for the underprivileged living in developing countries and has traveled overseas teaching the Word of God and ministering to both the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of orphans in Russia, Ukraine, Myanmar, Nepal and Central America. She has seen that one person can change the destiny of a child through love, care and compassion. Maureen studied Biblical Studies at Christ for The Nations Institute and World Harvest Bible College in South Bend, Indiana and English at The University of Texas at Austin. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities with a concentration in Communications from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin.
Scott and Maureen are the proud parents of three beautiful children, Anna, Lindsay and Andrew.
Pastor Joan Boethel is co-founder of BCOC in Bastrop, Texas, where she has served on the pastoral staff since 1984. Pastor Joan has been instrumental in implementing discipleship and evangelism programs to train and equip the body of Christ. She has developed ministries to take the Gospel message to the convalescent centers of Bastrop. She has also carried the message of the Gospel to several nations of the world. Through Pastor Joan’s anointed teaching and preaching of the Word of God, people who have been challenged with sickness and disease are experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit to heal, deliver, and restore. She is helping many to establish a foundation of truth in the Word of God and desires to see every believer come to the knowledge of who they are, what they have, and what they can do in Christ. She ministers in the regularly scheduled services at Bastrop Christian Outreach Center.
Tony & Mary Jackson
First of all, Pastor Tony and I would like to thank you for taking the time to view BCOC’s website. We are so excited about all the new and wonderful events that are taking place at Bastrop Christian Outreach Center. Everything you are reading about right now was once a dream, God’s dream, to reach people with the “good news” of His great love. Pastor Tony and I are proof that the amazing, forgiving, redeeming grace of the Father can take you from low, selfish living to the exciting new high life of loving and giving. We are the proof that Jesus will seek and save those who are lost. For over twenty years, along with our pastoral team, we have pastored this wonderful church body, beginning with a Bible study of very God-hungry people. As an outreach we have always given our attention to the lost and needy. With a heart of worship, preaching, teaching, praying for the sick, and casting out demons, we stand in awe as God continues to demonstrate His Word with signs following. Pastor Tony’s heart for Latin America has taken him on mission trips to Mexico, Guatemala, Nicaragua and Belize teaching church leaders and encouraging the people to fight the “good fight of faith”. I have had the wonderful opportunity to share the love of Jesus and basic principles of faith and holy living with hundreds of people in our community and in other countries. We invite you to join us as we magnify and glorify the King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
