Bastrop County Jail - Women’s Ministry

Description:

This outreach is a ministry to the women inmates in Bastrop County Jail. Isaiah 61:1 says, “The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me…to proclaim liberty to the captives…” Although the women receiving ministry through this outreach are in jail, they are hearing the good news that they can be truly free through a new life in Jesus Christ! Many who are caught in the web of hopelessness often become involved in criminal activity. Eventually they are arrested and taken to county jail where they await trial. Without the Gospel message of life and hope in Christ, they will continue to live in this destructive cycle, harming themselves and the community. Matthew 12:20 says, “A bruised reed shall He not break, and smoking flax shall He not quench…” This compassionate ministry to bruised and broken women is healing hearts and changing lives through the anointed teaching of the Word of God and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Every woman is given the opportunity to meet Jesus in all of His presence and all of His power.
