BCOC began Mercy Mission in April 2011 after Pastor Scott & Maureen and their son, Andrew, traveled to Nepal and Burma and witnessed the immense needs of many children and orphans living in these developing countries. Mercy Mission is a child sponsorship program whereby an individual, group or church supports a child on a monthly basis to provide for him an education, food, housing, clothes, a school uniform, school fees, books and a Bible. The sponsor contributes $35.00 a month to “adopt” a child and commits to praying for his/her welfare and future. We also encourage the sponsor and child to communicate through letter writing. If you are interested in sponsoring a child in need, please contact the church office at 512-321-2273 or fill out this form. We will send you a child’s profile and more information on the program.

You may also sponsor a child online by clicking here and selecting “Child Sponsorship Fund” under Recurring Donations.  We will send your child’s  packet in the mail to you.

The Father’s House Orphanage

Note:  Some names and places below have been changed to protect the identity of individuals.
The Father’s House Orphanage located in Burma was started over nine years ago by a dedicated Burmese believer who was brought up as a Christian and accepted Christ as a young child. He felt called in his heart to minister to the Buddhist people. As he began sharing the good news, he found there were many children who had been orphaned and desperately needed help, so he began taking in children. The Father’s House currently has more than 40 children living at the home. Their town is notorious for prostitution, theft and robbery. Most people in the community are either Buddhist or Muslim and are generally very poor, working as daily laborers with limited income.

The children at Father’s House have Bible devotions every morning and prayer meetings every evening. One day a week they attend special children’s services where they are taught the Word of God. Another day, they participate in the adult service by reciting Bible verses and singing special songs. Twice a day, they eat a meal of white rice boiled with vegetables and drink hot tea. The children sleep on the floor. Most of the homes in this area are made of bamboo and wood. Please pray for more land and better buildings for their dormitories, as presently there is no playground for the children.

If you are interested in sponsoring a pastor living within the 10/40 window, please contact us at 512-321-2273 or by filling out this form.
